Meet Carrie Buck: Conservative State Senator. Education Leader. Local Business Owner. Wife & Mother.

Carrie Buck is a Nevada State Senator, conservative education leader, and proud mother of four who is running for Congress to bring common-sense representation and real accountability to Washington.

Carrie’s journey began in a small farming town in rural Iowa, where she learned the values of faith, hard work, and self-reliance. Her parents raised her and her siblings with little but gave them everything that mattered - a strong work ethic, personal responsibility, and the belief that anything was possible with grit and determination.

Carrie was the first in her family to graduate from college and began her career teaching fifth-grade ESL in North Las Vegas, where many of her students didn’t speak English. She went on to earn a doctorate in organizational leadership and became a turnaround principal, transforming one of Nevada’s lowest-performing schools into one of its best. Her work earned national recognition, including the prestigious Milken Educator Award.

Carrie later helped launch and grow a network of public charter schools across Southern Nevada, giving more families the freedom to choose the education that’s right for their children. Today, she leads the Pinecrest Foundation, a nonprofit dedicated to helping students earn college credits in high school and access new opportunities.

In 2020, Carrie flipped a Democrat-held State Senate seat in a district President Biden won, proving she can win tough races and deliver results. In 2024, she was re-elected by a wide margin and is a strong conservative voice on the Senate Education, Finance, and Growth & Infrastructure Committees.

Carrie is running for Congress because she’s seen firsthand how politicians put bureaucracy before families and politics before progress. As a teacher, mom, and state senator, she’s never been afraid to challenge the status quo, and she’ll do the same in Washington.

In Congress, Carrie will fight to represent Nevada family's interests, fully fund law enforcement, improve education through school choice, and demand accountability for how tax dollars are spent. She believes in the American Dream because she’s lived it - and now she’s ready to defend it.

Carrie is married to Eric, a recently retired Henderson Police Department Deputy Chief. She is the proud mother of four sons, including a former Green Beret Army Ranger, an Army Reservist-turned-entrepreneur, and two students at Pinecrest Academy. Together, she and Eric have built a strong, faith-centered family rooted in service and community.
